There are few things I love more than coffee.
There’s something about it that is so soothing and relaxing and just feels luxurious. But if you want to talk about luxurious, let’s talk about this vanilla latte!
So this drink came to be because my sister was going to Starbucks nearly every single day, getting a vanilla latte. She decided she wanted to cut back and started making a similar drink to this at home, and now she only goes to Starbs once a week!
I don’t have any fancy coffee machine at my house, so the best part about this drink is that you can use your plain old coffee maker! I do however have one of those little frother things which is a gaaaame changer. That’s how you get the latte frothiness. I have linked a few here for you incase you don’t have one!
Once you have those two items, the rest is easy peasy.
Start by heating up the creamer in your mug in the microwave for 45 seconds so that it doesn’t cool down the coffee. Then add the cinnamon to the cream and get frothing with your frother stick, thing. PS I tried making this with less creamer than what is listed and it didn’t quite froth up. If you like it less sweet or less vanilla-y, do 1 tbsp of the vanilla creamer and 1 tbsp of regular half and half. It usually takes about 30 seconds for the creamer to fully froth up.
The last step is just pouring in the coffee! But a few things to note first- when I know am making this drink, when I brew my coffee I add an extra scoop of coffee grounds just to make it a bit more potent and strong. When you go to pour the coffee into the mug with the frothed creamer in it, tilt the mug to the side and pour the coffee along the side of the mug so that you don’t smoosh the beautiful froth you just made!
I typically add an extra little dash of cinnamon on top cause I fancy like that.
Wish we could all have coffee time together with our at-home lattes!
