You know those meals that just take you back in time immediately when you smell them?
This crockpot recipe is one of those meals. While this was cooking in the crockpot and I would get intermittent whiffs of it, I would be taken back to high school, coming home from field hockey and my mom having a hot roast ready for me to warm me up when I got home.
I love that food can take you back to such a specific time and place, just by smelling it!
I also love crockpot meals because it is nearly impossible to mess these meals up. Throw everything in the pot and let it cook for 6 hours- uhhhmazing.
This is one of the only beef recipes I have on my blog and there are a few reasons for that- 1) I personally don’t eat much red meat, so I have limited recipes that I create using red meat and 2) I am really not that familiar with how to cook red meat! This is something I am excited to learn about in culinary school (which I start in 3 weeks, BTW!!) because I am kinda a lost puppy when it comes to properly cooking red meat. Except in a crockpot, I can handle that.
What’s a meal that takes you back in time?? Let me know in the comments!!
