This recipe has been passed down through the women in my family for generations.
I remember sitting in the kitchen with my mom and grandma as they peeled the peaches for the pie, pressed the crust and kept a watchful eye on it in the oven until it was golden brown.
We would all get so excited when we would smell that familiar, sweet smell permeating through the house. That is the essence of why I love cooking. Because of the tradition, its ability to bring people together and to bring so much joy.
You get a warm feeling after eating this not just from the warm, gooey peaches, but from the history and memories that it holds.
The key to making this extra delicious is quality peaches. We get peaches from the Peach Truck and they are the best I’ve ever had.

My great grandma’s famous peaches and cream peach pie.
- 1 9” pastry pie crust
- 6 peaches
- 1/2 c sugar
- 1/4 c all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup whipping cream
Put a 9″ pastry pie crust in a pie pan. Cut 6 peaches in halves and peel them.
Arrange the peaches in the pie crust so they’re all laying flat. Combine sugar, flour and cinnamon with whipping cream in a small bowl. Pour cream mixture over the peaches being sure to get each part of every peach covered. Bake at 450 for 15 mins and then decrease heat to 350 for 30 mins.
Be sure to use the best peaches you can find, for the best pie.
