This recipe has been passed down through the women in my family for generations.
I remember sitting in the kitchen with my mom and grandma as they peeled the peaches for the pie, pressed the crust and kept a watchful eye on it in the oven until it was golden brown.
We would all get so excited when we would smell that familiar, sweet smell permeating through the house. That is the essence of why I love cooking. Because of the tradition, its ability to bring people together and to bring so much joy.
You get a warm feeling after eating this not just from the warm, gooey peaches, but from the history and memories that it holds.
The key to making this extra delicious is quality peaches. We get peaches from the Peach Truck and they are the best I’ve ever had.
What recipes in your family are more than just the dish?
