Let me introduce you to my favorite appetizer.
I created this recipe as a copy cat to one of my favorite aps at a restaurant in Columbus. As soon as I saw this on their menu, I just knew. Knew that it was going to be unbelievably delicious and bursting with flavors.
So when I came home, I obviously needed to recreate it.
And let me just say, I did a dang good job! Because y’all, this is unreal. And I can’t wait for you to make it and blow your guests away at your next dinner party!
Enjoy!

- Prep Time: 10 minutes
- Cook Time: 10 minutes
- Total Time: 20 minutes
- Yield: 10 pieces 1x
Description
This prosciutto bruschetta is the most perfect appetizer for your Italian meal!
Ingredients
- 1 can crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp oregano
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/4 c parmesan cheese
- salt, to taste
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 5 basil leaves
- 6 slices prosciutto
- 1 French baguette
Instructions
Slice a baguette into 2 inch pieces, brush both sides with olive oil and toast at 400 degrees for several minutes until crispy.
Dice garlic and sauté in a pan with olive oil on medium heat until light brown.
To prepare bruschetta topping: add crushed tomatoes, garlic, oregano, Parmesan and salt to frying pan with garlic. Let simmer on medium heat for 10 minutes.
Top bread pieces with a smear of ricotta, the bruschetta topping, 1/2 a slice of prosciutto and a sprig of basil.
Serve warm.
Notes
Do not prepare too far in advance, as the tomatoes can cause the bread to get soggy if sitting on it for too long.
